Dr. Doran’s higher education began at The George Washington University, nearby in D.C., where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. After developing a passion for optometry during his undergraduate studies, he went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Upon graduation, he completed an Ocular disease residency through Salus University, at the prestigious Omni Eye Services of New Jersey, working side by side with Ophthalmologists on complex medical patients in all areas of the eye. He has been working as an optometrist in northern Virginia ever since.
Since 2011, Dr. Doran has worked in primary care, treating a wide variety of patients, in Tyson’s Corner and around the Beltway. In 2016 Dr. Doran became the owner of Clarity Eyecare, where he successfully sees patients ranging in age from infants to 100 years old. He also sees specialty and hard to fit contact lens patients routinely.
Dr. Doran resides in the area with his wife and their two children. Prompted by his son’s arrival, Dr. Doran has enrolled in the InfantSEE program, providing free screening for infants in his community.
For fun Dr. Doran enjoys exercising and playing ice hockey. He is an avid sports fan, who also enjoys playing golf. He just doesn’t play it very well.
